High School

Mr. HeathWelcome to Berne Union High School

We are closing the book on another summer break, and it's time to get back to business!

Our office has been preparing for your students' return, and we are excited to greet them this week.  Don't forget that Orientation is Monday night, August 15, in the auditorium.  Grades 7-8 will meet at 6:30, and grades 9-12 will meet at 7:30.

I'd like to introduce three new staff members to our team.  Mrs. Julie Buckalew is our new Intervention Specialist.  Her speciality is High School Math, but she'll be helping out in other classrooms as well.  She comes to us from Lancaster High School.  Mrs. Sherri Green is our new math teacher, and she will be working with our students who are taking Algebra 1 and Advanced Math 7.  She comes to us from Washington Courthouse Middle School where she has served for 8 years.  Jake Parker is our new Educational Aide and will be working with one of our students.  Mr. Valenzuela will be teaching a full array of hands-on STEM classes, and we are so excited about that.  We are also thrilled to expand our partnership with Fairfield County Workforce Development.  Mrs. Kirby will be helping me and our School Counselor, Ms. Harrison, as we help our students get familiar with all the great things that are out there for them.

I'm really looking forward to meeting our incoming 7th graders as well as students who have moved to our area since last school year.  Our emphasis this year is to show up "READY TO WORK".  That goes for the high school office, our teaching staff, aides, and students!  I'll tell you more about that at Orientation.

Just across the parking lot our brand new K-12 facility is progressing at a great pace.  It is so exciting to know that soon we will move our first class students and staff into a first class facility!

Let's get off to a great start.  I'm "Ready to Work"!

Go Rockets!

Sincerely,

Craig S. Heath, Ed.D.
