Great news for our elementary STEM program! Melissa Sheets has secured a $5,000 grant from the Ohio Education Association, which will be used to purchase Lego Coding Materials for our kindergarten students in STEM. This exciting new resource will help introduce our young learners to the basics of coding and engineering, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills from an early age.

We're proud to announce that Berne Union Elementary has received the Momentum Award from the Ohio Department of Education! This honor recognizes our school for outstanding improvements in our 2022-2023 report cards and a high value-added rating, reflecting exceptional student growth over the past year.

Calling all young basketball stars! The Lady Rockets are hosting their summer basketball camps for girls entering 3rd and 4th grade on June 3-4, and 5th and 6th grade on June 10-11, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Berne Union Elementary Gym

Congratulations to Dylan Meadows, Berne Union 8th grader, who was selected to participate in the Lancaster Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce's first-ever local Civics Bee competition, April 26 at Ohio University Lancaster. He was one of 20 local students selected county-wide based on essays submitted in the opening phase of the competition earlier this year.

As Berne Union looks to move to our new school building, we are seeking proposals to replace our current printers.

The graduation order deadline is quickly approaching. The deadline is Saturday, November 26. If you have already placed a cap& gown order you are all set. If however you haven't placed an order or if you want to order school announcements, keepsake items, or 2023 merchandise, please make sure to do so before November 26.

The Berne Union Local Schools will welcome public comment at their 10-11-22 Board Meeting on the use of ARP IDEA Special Education Funds.
