Attention Families

CURRENT COVID-19 MEASURES
August 16, 2021

MASKS:

  • Masks are recommended but not required in the school building and while on school grounds. Anyone who is not vaccinated or those with a pre-existing health condition should consider wearing a mask at while at school.
  • Due to CDC, Federal Transportation Administration and insurance requirements, masks must be worn on school buses at all times, for transportation to/from school and extra-curricular activities.
  • Please be respectful and supportive of those wearing masks in our buildings and on our grounds.

COVID EXPOSURES:

  • Berne Union will follow public health guidelines for quarantine measures when an exposure occurs. If/when a student is exposed to a positive COVID-19 case, the school nurse and/or the Fairfield County Health Department will notify the impacted student and families with instructions.
  • The best way to avoid quarantine measures is to wear a mask while on school grounds.

SAFETY PRACTICES:

  • If your student shows any signs or symptoms of COVID or the flu, including a temperature above 100° F, please stay home from school until completely symptom-free for 24 hours and contact your medical provider for guidance.
  • Please continue to practice good hygiene (wash your hands, cover your mouth if you sneeze or cough, refrain from touching your nose and mouth, etc.)

UPDATES:

  • We are continuing to monitor the ever-changing information and updates from the CDC and local public health authorities as things continue to evolve with the ongoing pandemic.
  • We will keep you updated via our district website, One Call Now system and social media should changes be required.
