Congratulations to Dylan Meadows, Berne Union 8th grader, who was selected to participate in the Lancaster Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce's first-ever local Civics Bee competition, April 26 at Ohio University Lancaster. He was one of 20 local students selected county-wide based on essays submitted in the opening phase of the competition earlier this year. The event consisted of three rounds – two multiple-choice quiz rounds that will narrow the field to five participants, followed by a third round where our finalists will be quizzed on their essays by a panel of local judges. Dylan PLACED IN THE TOP 3 in the event and will be advancing to the State Civics Bee competition June 27-29! He earned a goodie bag from local Chamber members, an Amazon Fire tablet and a cash prize!
