Berne Union’s Theater Returns

Drama Club

Berne Union is reviving theater with the upcoming production of “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon”, a comedic re-telling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales.

The cast has been working since early September on the production which will be held November 20 and 21 at 7:30 PM.  Tickets are $8.00 or $5.00 for seniors or students.

The program has been restarted at no cost to the district and is being directed by staff members who are volunteering their time.  The cast and crew are 25 strong, and they can’t wait to share their hard work with staff, students, and families and friends of the district. Rock Study

Mrs. Garber’s class has been studying metamorphic, sedimentary, and igneous rocks as well as properties of rocks and the rock cycle.  The children had a great time demonstrating how magma (melted rock) comes up through a volcano as lava to cool and harden as igneous rock.  The children also discovered a chemical reaction that fizzed and had an odor from two different chemicals being mixed.

Our Superior Band

BU Band 2015-16

This past Saturday, at  Lancaster High School, Berne Union’s Band participated in their first competition of the year. Not only did they win their class, but were also one of only two bands to received a Superior rating. Additional accolades included best overall effect, best percussion and best auxiliary. We are extremely proud of our band! All the time and hard work they pay off is evident as soon as you see and hear them in action. Great Job!

Career Cruising

Berne Union students grades 7-12 are creating computer portfolios in our brand new computer lab.  At the early grade levels, students will find out about career choices, take interest inventories, and do career matchmaking exercising.  As they get into higher grade levels, they will match career interests with college choices and even be able to create a college folder to help them organize their search for post-secondary endeavors.
Mr. Arnold is helping our students as they get through these tasks.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Heath in the guidance office.
